The Youth Parliament 2025 is already underway at the Jobra Sports Academy, focusing on the theme “New Technologies – Opportunities and Challenges for Young People.”
As part of the Citizenship Project, developed within the Integration Area subject and led by Professor Suzana Dionísio, students from the Sports Technician Course participated in various activities aimed at raising awareness and empowering young people regarding political and electoral processes.
The activities began on January 13 with a debate in the school auditorium, attended by Mr. Deputy Mário Lopes. The event provided a deeper understanding of how the Assembly of the Republic operates, the significance of a parliamentary mandate, and the rules of political debate, encouraging young people’s civic and democratic participation. Additionally, students had the opportunity to interact directly with the deputy, asking questions and debating ideas.
Between January 13 and 15, the election campaign took place, during which the candidate lists presented their proposals to the school community. On January 16, the electoral debate was held, providing a platform for discussion, questioning, and reflection on the proposed measures.
The elections took place on January 17, determining the winning list. The results were as follows:
- List A (10ºTD3) – 20 votes
- List B (11ºTD1) – 29 votes
- List E (11ºTD2) – 33 votes
- List C (12ºTD1) – 47 votes
Later, on January 20, the school session was held, where three representatives were elected to represent the school at the district session of the Youth Parliament:
Gustavo Ribeiro (List A)
Pedro Sulino (List C)
Henrique Costa (Substitute – List C)
The process continued on February 26 with the election of the board for the district session at IPDJ Aveiro, where Francisco Araújo (12.TD-2) was the representative.
The District Session took place on March 18 at the Águeda Arts Center, from 9 AM to 6 PM, with the participation of the elected deputies from the school session.
